Guidance on Using an Online Form Called 'eConsult'

Non-urgent advice: You Can Consult With Us Using an Online Form Called 'econsult'

This service is available Monday to Friday 8am - 6.30pm (except Bank Holidays)

What is econsult?

econsult is a quick and easy way of letting your GP surgery know what's wrong or to raise a query. This can help you get the right care when you need it. It can be more convenient than phoning us. Particularly if you have a hearing impairment or it's difficult to call the surgery due to work, caring or treatment commitments.

How does it work?

Fill out the econsult form to let us know about any symptoms you're having or to ask a question or follow up about something i.e. a sick note. This could be about your own health or on behalf of someone you care for. If you find it difficult to complete the form or you do not want to use it, you can phone or visit the surgery.

What happens next?

We will send you an automated message by text, email or online message. This confirms we have received the online form.

We use the information you give us to choose the most suitable health professional to help you. This could be:

a face-to-face appointment

a phone call or video consultation

a text message, for example inviting you to visit the surgery for a blood test

Contact from us with an offer of appropriate help will usually be within 2 working days but can be sooner.

Help may be with one of our health professional teams. Such as nurse, physician associate, paramedic, MSK practitioner, pharmacist, social prescriber, well-being, GP. Or our secretary, admin or reception team may contact you if a health professional has asked them to do so.

Note: Do not use an econsult if your medical problem is urgent
